Burhan Tabak
PhD Student
EECS, UC Irvine
I am a Ph.D. student in the EECS Department at UC Irvine. I am a member of HPC Forge, where I am advised by Aparna Chandramowlishwaran. My current research falls at the intersection of machine learning systems and high-performance computing.
Before I joined UC Irvine, I earned my B.S. in 2025 from the Computer Science Department at Bilkent University. During my undergraduate studies, I worked with Cevdet Aykanat and contributed to projects on heterogeneous systems, task assignment heuristics, graph partitioning algorithms, and scalable attention.
Research
My current research focuses on
- Scalable memory architectures for transformer models
- Sparse attention kernels on tensor cores
